I wanted to start a broader workflow comparison thread around Java.

A useful angle is productivity, but it also connects with troubleshooting. Different tools and workflows can produce very different results even when the goal is similar.

It would be interesting to compare practical examples, experiments, setups, or lessons that show where Java is genuinely useful and where it still needs improvement.

The point about java and workflow is interesting. In practice I would keep the first test simple, record what worked, and only add extra complexity if it solves a specific limitation. It also gives you a cleaner baseline if you want to compare tools or settings later.
