How do you improve data quality when working with ROS & ROS2?

There are several ways to approach ROS & ROS2, so I wanted to compare experiences.

I am particularly interested in data quality and real-world use. I would like to compare approaches that people have actually used rather than just theoretical suggestions.

What would you tell someone trying this for the first time?

I would test one small workflow first, keep the variables consistent, and compare the result before changing several things at once. It is usually easier to troubleshoot when each change is tested on its own.
