How do you improve customisation when working with Hardware Help?

I have a question about Hardware Help that may be useful for other people working with it too.

I am particularly interested in customisation and evaluation. I would like to compare approaches that people have actually used rather than just theoretical suggestions.

What would you tell someone trying this for the first time?

The point about customisation and working is interesting. In practice I would keep the first test simple, record what worked, and only add extra complexity if it solves a specific limitation. That should make it easier to tell whether the change is actually helping.
