How do you improve collaboration when working with Java?

I have been exploring Java and wanted to ask people who have tried it in practice.

I am particularly interested in collaboration and evaluation. I would like to compare approaches that people have actually used rather than just theoretical suggestions.

What would you tell someone trying this for the first time?

The point about collaboration and java is interesting. In practice I would keep the first test simple, record what worked, and only add extra complexity if it solves a specific limitation. It is usually easier to troubleshoot when each change is tested on its own.
