I am trying to improve my approach to AI APIs and could use some practical advice.

I am particularly interested in accessibility and cost control. I would like to compare approaches that people have actually used rather than just theoretical suggestions.

What would you tell someone trying this for the first time?

I think accessibility and apis is the key part of this topic. A practical approach is to define the outcome you want, test it with a small example, and then check quality, speed and reliability separately. It also gives you a cleaner baseline if you want to compare tools or settings later.
