I wanted to start a broader future possibilities thread around AI CPUs & NPUs.

A useful angle is security, but it also connects with useful tools. Different tools and workflows can produce very different results even when the goal is similar.

It would be interesting to compare practical examples, experiments, setups, or lessons that show where AI CPUs & NPUs is genuinely useful and where it still needs improvement.

For AI CPUs & NPUs discussion: future possibilities, I would separate the problem into setup, output quality and repeatability. cpus and npus fits into that because it can change the result quite a lot depending on the workflow. It is usually easier to troubleshoot when each change is tested on its own.

The point about cpus and npus is interesting. In practice I would keep the first test simple, record what worked, and only add extra complexity if it solves a specific limitation. The original point — "I wanted to start a broader future possibilities thread around AI CPUs & NPUs. A useful angle is security, but it also connects with useful tools. Different tools and workflows ca…" — gives a useful starting point for that comparison.

One thing worth trying with AI CPUs & NPUs discussion: future possibilities is a controlled comparison around cpus and npus. Use the same input for each test and note what changes in the output rather than judging from a single run. That should make it easier to tell whether the change is actually helping.
