I have been exploring C++ and wanted to ask people who have tried it in practice.

I am particularly interested in automation and future improvements. I would like to compare approaches that people have actually used rather than just theoretical suggestions.

Which approach would you recommend and why?

The point about automation and people is interesting. In practice I would keep the first test simple, record what worked, and only add extra complexity if it solves a specific limitation. It is usually easier to troubleshoot when each change is tested on its own.

For What are the biggest mistakes with automation in C++?, I would separate the problem into setup, output quality and repeatability. automation and people fits into that because it can change the result quite a lot depending on the workflow. It also gives you a cleaner baseline if you want to compare tools or settings later.
